"Nice beach. Busy with lots of vendors on the weekend. Shallow enough for kids to play in. Waves can get pretty big also - fun but not suitable for paddling or any water sports. Park for free on the street before the gates and walk down the hill. Otherwise prices run about $9 US for “secure” parking."
"This is the best Wingfoiling spot I found in Puerto Penasco. The Winds were south, and weaker (barely 12 knots) than the forecast (12 to 20 knots). There's just a little rocky area to pass at low tide and then it gets deep and sandy quickly. The waves were small and gentle (I'm not an expert!). The swell was manageable despite the weak wind - my first time "riding" a swell 😉. I parked and carried everything (Gong inflatable board) but there are people with wheelbarrows that can help you for a fee). I also paid a table with a shade to have a comfy spot. Cherry on the cake: there was a Mariachi band playing on the beach while I was sailing! Only in Mexico! The down sides of this place are the crowds and the parking which is a bit too far away. I also drove a few times all the way East to playa Encanto, but the waves there are breaking for too long of a distance, it would have been much harder to pass the break there. Las Conchas have too many rocks and low water for too long, that's a no go for your foil. And lastly, north of La Choya there's no water at low tides!"
